NASHVILLE -- Four future North Dakota players were selected on Thursday at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Incoming freshman forward Jayden Perron became the first Fighting Hawk off the board when he was selected 94th overall (3rd round) by the Carolina Hurricanes while future defenseman Andrew Strathmann went a few moments later to the Columbus Blue Jackets at 98th overall (4th round).

The Hurricanes grabbed another UND product with the 190th overall pick (6th round), nabbing incoming rookie forward Michael Emerson before the San Jose Sharks used the 196th overall pick (7th round) to select future NoDak forward David Klee.

North Dakota has had at least one player selected in each NHL Entry Draft since 1999, one of the longest active streaks in the nation among collegiate programs. UND now has 186 all-time draft selections in program history, the third-most in college hockey.
