GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota Athletics Department announced its executive board for the 2023-24 academic year for the Student-Athletes for Inclusion & Diversity (UND SAID) organization on Monday. UND SAID was created in 2020 as a student driven organization to foster an inclusive and welcoming campus environment. The SAID executive board will prioritize education, outreach, engagement and support for all spectrums of diversity, inclusion and equity.
"We have continuously seen the SAID executive team raise the bar every year to ensure we have a welcoming campus culture," said Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Development and UND SAID Advisor Tyler Burmeister. "This leadership group is especially driven and will represent our university and athletic department well during the 2023-24 academic year."
Looking to build off of their efforts last year where UND SAID was nominated for organization of the year at the UND Leadership Awards, the organization will have a good mix of returning and new members.
"As an organization, we are so excited to welcome our new members. These upcoming semesters will be especially exciting as we continue to expand our outreach and put on more events throughout the year," said UND Volleyball and UND SAID President Elizabeth Norris. "Our goal is to make every student athlete on campus feel that they have a home here at UND, and I have no doubt that our executive board will strive everyday to reach that goal."
