GRAND FORKS, N.D. – As NCHC play is set to begin, North Dakota sits among the top-10 at No. 10 in both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls that were released on Monday.
UND (3-4-0) is coming off a tough weekend at ECAC favorite Cornell, dropping a 4-1 decision on Friday night before falling by a 5-3 score in Saturday's finale. The Fighting Hawks held a 3-2 lead after two periods on Saturday, but the Big Red struck for a trio of goals over the final 20 minutes to hand UND only its eighth loss since 2018-19 when leading after two.
The weekend was highlighted by a few standpoint performances for the green and white, with junior forward
Dylan James potting a goal in each game to take over the team lead with four and freshman forward
Sacha Boisvert striking for three points (1G, 2A) over the two games to lead the squad with seven points.
North Dakota will open NCHC play this weekend against Minnesota Duluth from AMSOIL Arena, beginning on Friday night at 7:07 p.m. This will be the first games for UND against an opponent not ranked or receiving votes in the polls.
