UND opens December at No. 16, 17 in national polls

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – On the first Monday of December, North Dakota sits No. 16 in the USCHO.com Poll and at No. 17 in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live Poll, which were released this afternoon.
 
UND (7-7-1) is coming off its final nonconference series of the season against Bemidji State, dropping the series opener, 2-1, at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn. before playing to a 3-3 tie and shootout victory on Saturday evening at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
 
Sophomore defenseman Jake Livanavage was honored for his play in both contests, earning NCHC Defenseman of the Week honors after finishing the series with two points, five blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. Graduate student goaltender T.J. Semptimphelter also shined in the series, finishing with a 1.20 goals against average and a .950 save percentage after stopping 38-of-40 over the two games.
 
North Dakota hits the road this weekend for its second road NCHC series of the season against Miami beginning on Friday night at 6:05 p.m. (CT) from Oxford, Ohio.
