DENVER -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team fell by a 7-0 score to No. 53 Denver on Saturday afternoon from the Denver Tennis Park in the Mile High City.
The Fighting Hawks were shorthanded for the match, having to take the court with only four available players. Due to this, Denver earned a pair of points on the No. 5 and 6 courts to start the match with a 2-0 lead.
After a victory on the No. 1 court clinched the doubles point for the Pioneers to extend the advantage to 3-0, the hosts captured the four contested singles matches in two sets to take the contest by a 7-0 score.
North Dakota will remain on the road next weekend for a showdown with South Dakota on Friday at 1:30 p.m. from Vermillion.
