GRAND FORKS, N.D. - North Dakota head soccer coach Chris Logan has announced the addition of Nicole Randall as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.

"Nicole is such an exciting addition to our coaching staff! She possesses great passion for the game, an incredibly positive mentality towards coaching and a tireless work ethic," said Logan. "Most importantly, Nicole reflects the values of our program in being invested in student-athletes as people first and helping them grow personally and academically in addition to athletically. On the field Nicole will be working with our midfielders, and her knowledge of this area of the field will greatly benefit our athletes. We are excited to welcome her to UND soccer!"
 
Randall most recently served as an assistant women's soccer coach at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi for two seasons. She aided in the recruitment process with the Islanders, including evaluating recruits and scheduling campus visits. Randall coached full team practices and took the lead on small group technical, possession, finishing and position specific training. In Randall's first season at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, the Islanders got off to their best start in program history with a 6-3 record through the first nine games.

"I'm extremely grateful to Chris, Liz and the entire hiring committee for this opportunity," said Randall. "North Dakota is a fantastic university and the staff and support around the team are amongst the best in the country. I can't wait to get to Grand Forks and get started!"

The Islanders set program records for goals in a season with 37 and goals in a game with 8 during the 2022 campaign. Randall oversaw the midfield which saw a steady increase in production under her guidance, after tallying one goal and five assists in 2021, the Islanders' midfield put away 22 goals and notched 20 assists over the past two seasons. A&M – Corpus Christi placed four student-athletes on Southland All-Conference teams over the past two seasons, including midfielder Rachel Loetzer who earned two straight all-conference second team honors under Randall's guidance.

Prior to her stint with A&M – Corpus Christi, Randall spent three seasons on the University of Idaho's sidelines as an assistant coach. In her time with the Vandals, they had 15 athletes honored on the Big Sky All-Conference teams, the 2018 Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year, co-goalkeeper of the year and the 2021 spring co-offensive player of the year. The Vandals also placed two athletes on the All-West Region team and had one first team Academic All-American.

Randall began her coaching career at her alma mater, Fort Hays State, where she spent three seasons as an assistant coach. As a student-athlete, she appeared in 40 games with 17 starts in the Tigers' midfield and scored one goal to go with three assists. She was a key part of Fort Hays State's MIAA Tournament Championship run in 2012 as the team knocked off the No. 3, No. 2, and No. 1 seeds to earn the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament Randall also spent two years as an assistant with Allen Community College before joining the staff at Idaho.

Randall earned her bachelor's degree in health and human performance and her master's of science in health and human performance for Fort Hays State.
