Eleven Fighting Hawks earn spots on All-MVFC Teams

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – North Dakota football had 11 student-athletes selected to the All-MVFC Teams, the league offices announced Monday. Nominations were submitted by each school's sports information director and voting was conducted by the league's head coaches, SIDs and select media members.

Seth Anderson, Antonio Bluiett, Malachi McNeal and Lance Rucker headlined the MVFC Team, each earning first team honors. Four Fighting Hawks also received second team status, while a trio of Hawks picked up honorable mention accolades.

Seth Anderson, OL, 5th, Moorhead, Minn., First Team OL
Has started all 13 games at right tackle … His blocking helps UND rank No. 16 nationally in scoring offense (34.5 points per game) … North Dakota quarterbacks are only sacked on average 1.1 times per game, which sits No. 11 in the FCS and No. 1 in the MVFC … Thanks to his blocking, the Fighting Hawk backfield ranks as the No. 16 rushing offense in the FCS with 199.4 yards per game … Helped NoDak register more than 400 yards of offense five times, led by 564 yards in the 46-17 win vs. Indiana State … Named the MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week twice (at Kansas State and vs. Murray State).

Antonio Bluiett, CB, Jr., Buffalo, Minn., First Team DB
Started seven games at cornerback and appeared in 10 games before going down with an injury … Ranks No. 3 in the MVFC in interceptions per game (0.30) … Ties for second on the team in interceptions with three … Had a pair of picks in the 24-23 loss at No. 5/7 Montana … Has 29 tackles (25 solo), 2.0 tackles-for-loss, a sack and six pass breakups.

Malachi McNeal, LB, Sr., Waukegan, Ill., First Team LB
Has started all 13 games at linebacker … Ranks as the No. 16 tackler in the MVFC and averages 6.5 tackles per game … Leads the team in both total tackles (84) and is second in solo stops (49) … Ties for second on the team in quarterback hurries (6) and ties for fourth on the team in tackles-for-loss (6.0) … Intercepted a pass and returned it 22 yards in the 15-10 loss vs. No. 1 North Dakota State … Named the Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week and MVFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 10 tackles (nine solo), a sack and a pass breakup while limiting Youngstown State quarterback to 71 yards rushing in the 35-17 win against RV/No. 20 Youngstown State … Recorded a strip-sack, forced fumble, had a fumble recovery and a sack to go with seven tackles in the 31-6 win at No. 13 seed Tennessee Tech in the FCS First Round.

Lance Rucker, EDGE, Jr., Omaha, Neb., First Team DL
Has started all 13 games at edge … Ranks No. 15 in the FCS and leads the MVFC in sacks per game (0.8) … No. 2 in the conference in tackles-for-loss per game (1.1) … Leads the team in both tackles-for-loss (14.0) and sacks (10.5) … Ties for second on the team in QB hurries (6) and is fifth in total tackles (59.0) … Put down a pair of sacks, 2.5 TFLs and eight tackles at South Dakota … Recorded two sacks, two tackles-for-loss and six tackles in the 24-23 loss at No. 5/7 Montana … Blocked an extra point in the 50-20 victory over Portland State … Threw down three strip-sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and blocked an extra point to go with six tackles in the 31-6 win at No. 13 seed Tennessee Tech in the FCS First Round.

Liam Becher, OL, Jr., Iowa City, Iowa, Second Team OL
Has started all 13 games at left guard … Helps UND rank No. 16 in the FCS in scoring offense (34.5 points per game) … Fighting Hawk quarterbacks are only sacked on average 1.1 times per game, which ranks No. 11 in the country and No. 1 in the MVFC … With the help of his blocking, UND's backfield averages 199.4 yards per game to rank as the No. 16 rushing offense in the FCS … North Dakota put up over 400 yards of offense five times, highlighted by 564 yards in the 46-17 win vs. Indiana State … Named the MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week after the 38-19 win at No. 12/12 Southern Illinois.

B.J. Fleming, WR, Aledo, Texas, Second Team WR
Has started 12 games at wide receiver … Ranks No. 5 in the MVFC in yards per reception (17.1) … Ties for No. 5 in the conference in receiving touchdowns (7) … Sits No. 7 in the league in receiving yards per game (64.2), No. 8 in total receiving yards (770) and No. 10 in receptions per game (3.8) … Had three 100-yard receiving games … Has three receiving scores of 75 yards-or-more … Leads the team in receptions (45), receiving yards (770), touchdown receptions (7) and yards per reception (17.1) … Named the MVFC Newcomer of the Week after catching five passes for 84 yards and two scores in the 35-17 win over RV/No. 20 Youngstown State … Had the longest scoring reception in school history with an 89-yard touchdown in the 34-31 overtime loss to No. 22 South Dakota State.

Sawyer Seidl, RB, Hugo, Minn., Second Team RB
Has 11 starts at running back this season while appearing in every game … Ranks No. 11 in the FCS in total touchdowns (16) and No. 25 in rushing scores (11) … Sits No. 5 in the MVFC in rushing yards (879), No. 7 in rushing yards per game (67.6) and No. 8 in rushing yards per carry (4.9) … Ranks as the No. 14 most productive scorer in the conference (7.5 points per game) … Has 180 carries for 879 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns … Registered four 100-yard rushing games … No. 5 in the MVFC in all-purpose yards per game (102.3) and No. 8 in combined kick return yards (279), while returning a 92-yard kickoff return for touchdown in the 58-7 rout of Valparaiso … Helps UND rank No. 8 in the FCS in yards per kickoff return (24.9).

Kaden Vig, EDGE, Hallock, Minn., Second Team DL
Has started all 13 games at edge … Ties for No. 13 in the FCS and No. 2 in the MVFC in fumble recoveries (2) … Ranks No. 5 in the conference in sacks per game (0.4) … Second on the team in sacks (5.5) and ties for fourth in tackles-for-loss (6.0) … Also has 36 tackles (16 solo), four QB hurries, a forced fumble and a pass breakup … Jumpstarted the scoring in the 35-7 win at Northern Iowa, recording a strip-sack and returning it 63 yards for a touchdown … Finished the game at UNI with six tackles (three solo), 2.5 TFLs, a pair of sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery … Recovered a fumble in the 31-6 win at No. 13 seed Tennessee Tech in the FCS First Round.

Zach Lewis, SAF, Chandler, Ariz., Honorable Mention DB
Has started all 13 games at safety … Ties for No. 7 in the MVFC in interceptions per game (0.23) … Ranks No. 17 in the FCS and No. 2 in the MVFC in yards per punt return (11.8) … Sits No. 9 in the conference in combined kick return yards (259) … Leads the team in solo stops (51) … Second on the team in total tackles (79.0) and third in tackles-for-loss (8.0) … Also has 1.5 sacks, four pass breakups, one forced fumble and a quarterback hurry … Had 10-or-more tackles three times, including 11 total tackles in the 31-6 win in the FCS First Round at No. 13 seed Tennessee Tech.

Mason South, FB/TE, Maple Grove, Minn., Honorable Mention FB
Started four games and has appeared in all 13 as a fullback or tight end and on special teams … Hauled in six grabs for 56 yards … His blocking helps UND rank No. 16 nationally in scoring offense (34.5 points per game) … Fighting Hawk quarterbacks are only sacked on average 1.1 times per game, which sits No. 11 in the FCS and No. 1 in the MVFC … Thanks to his blocking, the UND backfield ranks as the No. 16 rushing offense in the nation with 199.4 yards per game … Helped the Fighting Hawks register 400 yards of offense or more five times, led by 564 yards in the 46-17 win vs. Indiana State.

Jonnie Wiltshire, NKL, Woodbridge, Va., Honorable Mention DB
Has started 12 games at nickel and has appeared in every game … Ties for No. 7 in the MVFC in interceptions per game (0.23) … Leads the team in quarterback hurries (9) and is second in both tackles-for-loss (8.5) and pass breakups (7) … Also has 50.0 tackles (35 solo), three interceptions and a forced fumble … His defensive effort led to a pair of scores in the 35-17 win at Murray State, with a 30-yard pick-six in the third quarter and then a forced fumble which led to a score in the fourth quarter … Registered three pass breakups, four tackles, a pair of TFLs and an interception in the 31-6 win at No. 13 seed Tennessee Tech in the FCS First Round.

The league office will reveal the MVFC All-Newcomer Team on Tuesday.

North Dakota will visit No. 4 seed Tarleton State at Noon this Saturday. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and carried on the Fighting Hawks Radio Network.
