SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota distance runner Jiri Ceska earned the title of Kwik Star Summit League Men's Track Peak Performer of the Week, the conference offices announced on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Ceska broke the 800-meter school record and won the title at the UND Tune-Up with a time of 1:48.57. He broke the record of Alec Nelson, who set it at 1:49.83 at the 2024 David Hemery Valentine Invitational. With the PR, Ceska now leads the Summit League in the event and edges out Mason Sindelar of South Dakota, who had a League-leading time of 1:49.34 coming into the day. Ceska's time also broke the UND Tune-Up meet record time of 1:53.25, set by Josh Samyn of North Dakota State in 2021.

North Dakota will make the trip down I-29 this week for the Summit League Indoor Championships in Brookings on Friday and Saturday.
