NoDak rolls Minnesota State, 7-0

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team made it a perfect weekend on Sunday morning, cruising to a 7-0 win over Minnesota State from Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D.

A pair of Fighting Hawks also reached major milestones in the win as well, with Nore Heinitz earning her 133rd career win to tie Andrea Jansson for the most in program history and Jule Schulte crossing the 100-win plateau to become the first player at UND to reach the century mark in three seasons.

UND won all 13 sets on the day, with the Hawks rolling in doubles action. Alyssa Giupponi and Andrea Pineda started it off with a 6-0 victory on the No. 3 court before a 6-1 win on the middle court from Heinitz and Schulte to secure the 1-0 lead for the hosts. The top pairing of Ethel Li and Aziza Aubin made it a perfect 3-for-3 in two-person play by a 6-2 score.

Giupponi kept it rolling in singles play, extending the advantage to 2-0 from the fifth position by a 6-2, 6-0 score before Aubin followed with the exact same result at the No. 4 spot to quickly push the match to a clinching scenario for NoDak.

Schulte grabbed her 100th win in style, recording the clinch on the No. 2 court by the same 6-2, 6-0 scoreline while Li stretched the advantage to 5-0 moments later from the top spot with a 6-0, 6-2 victory.

Manon Hallemans jumped into singles action and battled to a 6-3 win in the first set before cruising to a 6-1 triumph in the second stanza at the No. 6 position to make it 6-0 for the hosts. Heinitz closed out the day and drew even with the program record on the No. 3 court with a 6-3, 6-2 victory and the 7-0 NoDak win.

North Dakota will close the regular season on Saturday at home against Denver at 1:30 p.m. from Choice Health and Fitness.
