Gibson Homer joins North Dakota for final two years of eligibility

| By:
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota head hockey coach announced on Wednesday morning that goaltender Gibson Homer has signed a valid grant-in-aid and will join the UND program for the 2025-26 season. Homer has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

"We are excited to add Gibson to our group," said Jackson. "He has shown how good he can be against NCHC opponents over the last two seasons and his performance against us last year was proof of that. His mix of size and athleticism is an elite combination that will help back stop our game."

Homer has been one of the top goaltenders in the nation over the last two seasons, posting a 16-8-4 record with a 2.32 goals against average, a .924 save percentage and three shutouts in 30 appearances. In his first season with the Sun Devils, Homer led the nation with a .931 save percentage while his 27 goals allowed were the fewest among qualified goaltenders in the country.

The Grand Rapids, Mich., native helped ASU reach new heights in the program's first year in the NCHC, backstopping the Sun Devils to second place in the league standing. Homer finished among the top-25 nationally with a .919 save percentage and allowed two-or-fewer goals in six of his 16 appearances to go 8-5-2.

At 6-foot-5, Homer is the tallest goaltender to play at North Dakota and will be introduced to the media via Zoom on Thursday morning.
