GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Head Coach
Dennis Hutter and the University of North Dakota women's basketball program is excited to announce the signing of six additional players to the 2025-26 roster. The six include five transfers and one true freshman.
Hanna Miller | Forward | 6-2 | Aberdeen, S.D. | Aberdeen Christian/Arizona State University
Hanna will graduate from Arizona State University in May with her Bachelor of Science in sports business. During her two years at ASU, Miller saw action in 11 games where she played 84 minutes. The forward accumulated 18 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, and one block. Miller shot 42.9% from the field and 37.5% from the perimeter.
Prior to Miller's time at ASU, she played at Dodge City Community College, in Dodge City, Kansas where she earned player of the week recognition for her performance against top ranked teams. She was a contributor to one of Dodge City's all-time best seasons. The team earned an auto-bid to the national tournament after winning the KJCCC title for the first time since 1988. The squad also broke the school record for total wins, most wins in the KJCCC in a single season and had the longest win streak in school history.
"Hanna brings great energy and great attitude to our team," said Hutter. "Hanna will add great length and athleticism to our team and allow us to be versatile at both ends of the floor."
Ava Miller | Forward | 6-2 | Rochester, Minn. | Mayo High School/USC Upstate
Ava Miller joins the Fighting Hawks after completing her freshman year at the University of South Carolina Upstate where she appeared in 30 games, making 18 starts. Shooting 47% from the field and an impressive 42.9% behind the arc.
Prior to USC Upstate, Miller was a two-sport athlete competing in both basketball and volleyball. As a senior at Mayo, the Spartan standout averaged 16.1 points per game and collected 8.7 rebounds per game. Miller was selected as an all-conference honoree for her efforts. She helped lead Mayo to numerous conference championships in both volleyball and basketball.
"Ava will add immediate depth at our post position for this upcoming season," said Hutter. "Ava also brings the ability to shoot the three from our post spot, which will be a nice added dimension for our offense. Ava brings a great work ethic and a great attitude to our team that will be immediately impactful both on the floor and in the locker room."
London Harris | Guard | 5-8 | Minneapolis, Minn. | Hopkins High School
London Harris will join the Fighting Hawks after a decorated high school playing career with the Hopkins Royals. She appeared in four state championship games, earning the state title in two of those seasons. Harris and the Royals were crowned Lakes Conference Season Champions for three seasons. In her senior season, London was named a McDonald's All-American Nominee, Minnesota All-State Honoree, All-Conference selection, and Minnesota's Defensive Player of the Year.
"London will bring great effort to our team especially at the defensive end of the floor," said Hutter. "She plays with great intensity and toughness at both ends of the floor. We are excited to have London join our Fighting Hawk family."
Finley Ohnstad | Forward | 6-1 | Lakeville, Minn. | Lakeville South/Kansas State University
Finley Ohnstad comes to North Dakota after completing her freshman campaign at No. 13 Kansas State University. Prior to KSU, Ohnstad had a successful high school career. As a senior at Lakeville South, she was named to the 2024 Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association (MGBCA) All-State team. The forward was a two-time Pioneer Press East Metro Player of the Year finalist (2023 & 2024) and was honored on the 2024 Star Tribune All-Metro team. Ohnstad averaged 17 points per game and six rebounds in her senior season. As a junior who averaged 18 points per game, she earned the 2022-23 All-Metro honors. The Lakeville native was a four-time All-South Suburban Conference selection and the 2022-23 Star Tribune Preseason Player to Watch. Ohnstad broke the Lakeville South career scoring record with 1,587 points and set Lakeville South's single-game scoring record with 45 points.
"Finley brings great size and perimeter skill to our team," said Hutter. "She has a great ability to be a three-level scorer for our team during her career here at North Dakota. Finley's desire to be good and be a part of a family, makes her a great match for our family here at UND."
Addison Klosterbuer | Guard | 5-11 | Little Rock, Iowa | Central Lyon High School/University of South Dakota
Addison Klosterbuer comes to North Dakota after two seasons with Summit League foe South Dakota. The guard had redshirted due to injury after just two games during her freshman season. In her collegiate debut game, she recorded 10 points against North State. In her sophomore season, Klosterbuer played 20 games and made her first collegiate start at Air Force. She recorded 22 points, with a season-high six points against Saint Louis. On the season she had seven steals, with a career-high four against Air Force.
Before USD, Klosterbuer was a two-time Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Class 2A Player of the Year. She was also a two-time All-State and All-Tournament team selection. In both her junior and senior season, she helped Central Lyon finish as the Iowa state runner-up. She was Central Lyon's single-season and career record holder for 3-pointers, finishing with 266 career 3-point field goals. Klosterbuer also tied the Iowa state tournament record for 3-pointers made in a game with eight in the quarterfinals as a senior. Her senior year she averaged 19.6 points, five rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
The guard played AAU basketball for All-Iowa Attack and South Dakota Attack and completed her prep career with 1,290 points.
"Addison has an amazing daily effort and team attitude, and that is why she is such a good match for our UND Family," said Hutter. "Addison's ability to shoot the three increases our depth on the perimeter. We are excited to have Addison join our UND women's basketball program."
Mackenzie Hughes | Guard | 5-6 | Thompson, N.D. | Thompson Public School/Mayville State University
Mackenzie Hughes joins the Fighting Hawks after playing four years with the Mayville State Comets. Hughes played 114 games, making 86 starts for the Comets, recording 3,392 minutes on the court. Shooting 43.9% from the field, and 33.3% from the arc, she scored 1,647 points, an average of 14.4 points per game. She tallied 410 rebounds, 302 assists, and 214 steals. In her sophomore year, Hughes helped Mayville State win a conference tournament title and a first-round NAIA National Tournament game. During her junior season, she assisted the Comets in winning the regular season championship, conference tournament championship, and helped the Comets win two NAIA National Tournament games advancing the team to the sweet 16.
During her senior year at Mayville State, Hughes was honored on the NAIA Third-Team All-American. Hughes is a two-time NSAA First-Team All-Conference selection and NSAA Second-Team All-Conference selection. and surpassed 1,000 points in her junior season. Her work in the classroom earned her three NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete honors.
Hughes is a 2021 graduate from Thompson High School where she played basketball, volleyball and softball for five years. She was volleyball's Region 2 Senior Athlete of the Year, basketball's Region 2 Senior Athlete of the Year, the North Dakota Class B Senior Athlete of the Year and a Miss Basketball Finalist. She was also named the North Dakota Sportscaster Female Athlete of the Year of North Dakota.
"Mackenzie brings a competitive edge and a level of toughness to our team both on and off the floor," said Hutter. "Her attitude and effort will be infectious to the entire team. Mackenzie will bring great quickness and scoring ability to our team immediately this upcoming season. She is a great addition to our North Dakota women's basketball team."
