OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota men's basketball team looks to make it four wins in a row and three straight victories in Summit League play to kick off the season, against Omaha on Thursday night from Baxter Arena at 7 p.m.

It is the 107th meeting all-time between the Hawks and the Mavericks, with Omaha winning the last three meetings by a total of 14 points. Omaha won the last game against UND on Feb. 6, 2025, via a JJ White game-winning three-pointer as time expired to win 80-77 on its home court.

North Dakota is 2-0 in Summit League play for the first time since 2019-20, coming off a 90-87 overtime win at home against South Dakota State. Garrett Anderson was the hero, hitting the go-ahead three-pointer with 17 seconds to play in overtime. The Hawks have won four of their last five games.

Scouting the Opposition
Omaha enters this game with a 7-10 record, currently on a three-game losing streak. The Mavs are coming off a 73-66 home loss against Kansas City on Saturday.

Omaha has been led by Lance Waddles this season, as the North Dakota State transfer is averaging 16.0 points per game on 43.1% from deep (53-of-123). Waddles leads the conference in three-point percentage and three pointers made (53).

Paul Djobet has given the Mavs a spark over the last four games, averaging 16.8 points per game on 50.0% from deep. Djobet appeared in 28 games last season at Miami, getting three starts.

De-Lorme He Plays, De-More We Win
Since making his season debut on Dec. 18 against Winthrop, the Hawks own a 4-1 record in the five games Wylee Delorme has played in this season. The UMary transfer is averaging 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game across 12.6 minutes per game. He is coming off a season-high in points (12) and rebounds (6) on 5-of-6 shooting against South Dakota State on Saturday.

The Fighting Hawks are looking to make it 3-0 in conference play for the first time in their division l Era. UND joined its first division l conference in 2009-10 as part of the Great West Conference.
