GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota men's basketball team looks to stay hot in a home matchup against the Omaha Mavs on Thursday night from Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Coverage can be seen on Midco Sports and heard on 1440 AM The Fan.
It is a meeting between two surging teams, with UND winners of four consecutive games and Omaha winning three straight contests. The Mavs sit two games behind North Dakota for third place in the Summit League.
Overall, it is the 108th meeting for Omaha and UND, as the Fighting Hawks lead the series 58-49. NoDak has dropped four-straight matchups to Omaha, falling earlier this season at Baxter Arena by a score of 90-79 on Jan. 8. The Hawks have lost the last four contests to Omaha by just a combined 25 points.
The Green and White are coming off a thrilling 81-80 victory at St. Thomas last Thursday night. North Dakota trailed the whole second half, down by as many as 10 overall. The Hawks overcame a five-point deficit in the final 2:00 of the game, capped off by an Eli Game game-winning circus layup with 6.9 seconds to play. The win snapped the Tommies 28-game home winning streak.

Omaha is coming off an 84-82 victory at Denver on Saturday, coming into this game with an overall record of 12-12. Paul Djobet poured in 27 points and 11 rebounds in that contest, earning him Summit League Peak Performer of the Week.
The Mavs are led by the three-headed attack of Djobet (20.0), Tony Osburn (13.5) and Lance Waddles (13.3), all averaging at least 13.0 points per game, while making at least 1.8 three-point field goals made per game.
