North Dakota Posts Second Straight Top-Five Finish; Kollar Sets Career Marks at Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — The North Dakota men's golf team continued its strong start to the spring season with a fourth-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Tuesday, marking the program's second straight top‑five showing to open the spring slate. 

Junior Kagan Kollar delivered the best tournament of his career, firing a 211 (-5) to finish fourth individually and set a new personal 54‑hole low by seven strokes. Kollar opened with a 69 and closed with a 68, each representing new career‑best 18‑hole scores. The performance secured the third top‑10 finish of his UND career. 

Sophomore Carson Skarperud added his own highlight in the second round, acing the 185‑yard, par‑3 eighth with a 6‑iron. He matched his career-low round with a 70 in that same round and finished at 214 (-2), earning a share of eighth place for the fourth top‑10 finish of his career. 

UND posted team rounds of 284, 294 and 288 to finish at 866 (+2), outpacing six teams in the 10‑team field. Behind Kollar and Skarperud, Carver Larson tied for 28th at 220 (+4), Joseph Kortan tied for 36th at 222 (+6) and Nathan Peyerl placed 54th at 226 (+10).

North Dakota will continue its spring schedule at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate, beginning March 23 in Arizona.
