LAS VEGAS – University of North Dakota junior defenseman Jake Livanavage has been named to the CCM/AHCA All-America West First Team, which was announced on Friday evening at a special ceremony from Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nev.

Livanavage becomes the sixth defenseman in UND history to earn multiple All-America selections and only the second NoDak blueliner this century to be selected multiple times (Chay Genoway, 2008-09 & 2010-11). UND has also had at least one All-America selection in each of the last three years.

The Phoenix, Ariz., native is coming off another stellar season for the Fighting Hawks, finishing with five goals and 20 assists for 25 points in 39 games. He finished third on the team among blueliners with a plus-15 rating while his 51 blocked shots were second on the squad.

Livanavage became the first player in program history to be named a finalist for both the NCHC Defensive and Offensive Defenseman of the Year and sat second among all NCHC blueliners with over 25 minutes of ice time per game.

Earlier today, Livanavage signed a two-year, entry-level deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins and is expected to make his NHL debut this weekend.
