GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota head hockey coach Dane Jackson announced on Monday afternoon that former Bemidji State forward Kasper Magnussen (pronounced MAG-nuss-sin) has signed an agreement to play his final season of eligibility at North Dakota in 2026-27.

"We are excited to bring in a player like Kasper to our group," said Jackson. He is a fast and physical power forward who is also an elite shooter that will bring a strong presence each day."

Magnussen comes to North Dakota following three seasons at Bemidji State, where he scored 24 goals and dished out 34 assists for 58 points in 102 career games. He is coming off his best offensive season in 2025-26 with 10 goals, 21 assists and 31 points to pace the Beavers in helpers and sit second in points.

The Fredrikstad, Norway, native has been lethal on the man advantage for BSU over the last two seasons, potting 12 goals to rank tied for 12th nationally among all skaters over that stretch.

He also represented his home nation of Norway at multiple IIHF events, including most recently at the 2023-24 IIHF World Junior Championships. He will join Ludvig Hoff (2016-19) as the second Norwegian to play at North Dakota.
