MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – In its lone meet of the week, North Dakota track and field faced a wind-blown kind of day at the Gary Wilson Invitational amidst a field of regional foes while two more school records fell in the Wednesday competition.

The first marquee result of the day came in the field events but more specifically in the women's high jump. For the third time in as many weeks, Anya Williams rewrote North Dakota track and field history. She cleared a bar of 5-9 1/4 (1.76m) to break the school record, record a new personal best, sit second in the conference and take second place in the event. Ellie Becker also competed for UND in the high jump and finished sixth overall with a mark of 5-3 (1.60m).

Next to make history was Shane Zierden, who finished fourth overall in the men's long jump with his wind-aided mark of 24-7 (7.49m, 4.6 m/s). But on his fourth jump of the day—the first in the event finals—Zierden registered a leap of 24-1 3/4 (7.36m), which broke his own previous school record. The new personal best now sits second on the conference performance list so far this season.

UND success began in the 3000-meter steeplechase when Eric Weiss ran a 9:34.10 for second place and the ninth-best time in school history and Ethan Kimmel followed closed behind in third with a PR of 9:34.83. Niko Angell also cracked the top 10 in the event with his clocking of 9:51.52 for 10th place. In the women's section of the same event, Katie Rogers came fourth with a time of 11:16.21 for the eighth-fastest time in school history.

Marta Marksa broke onto the podium with her clocking of 13.62 in the women's 100-meter hurdles to take second place overall and Ryan Lange clocked a time of 14.55 to take seventh place overall in the men's 110-meter hurdles. His time marked a new PR that solidifies his spot as seventh on the UND all-time list and jumps to ninth in conference performances so far this season.
