GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota softball team enters the late stretch of its 2026 season, set for five games in four days at home this weekend. NoDak will take on the Omaha Mavericks for two games on Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 3 p.m., which will be followed by three games against North Dakota State on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. All five games can be found on the Summit League Network, with games on Friday and Saturday broadcasted on linear Midco Sports.
UND enters this weekend with a 25-19 overall record, sitting at 2-7 in Summit League play. The Hawks are just one game in the loss column behind the South Dakota Coyotes for that sixth spot in the conference. South Dakota does own the tie-breaker, taking 2-of-3 games from UND this past weekend at Albrecht Field.
By the end of this weekend, UND will have played nine games in nine days, coming off four games in four days stretch. Following the series loss to USD, the Hawks fell in a midweek contest to Minnesota, 6-2 on Tuesday evening. NoDak had nine hits in the game, with RBIs from
Chloe Bethune and
Arianna Robillard.

The Long Ball is Working at Home
North Dakota has hit 24 home runs this season, nuking six homers in six home games.
Makenna Alexander has hit three, while
Chloe Bethune,
Camryn Lasota and
Olivia Dick have all hit one. The 24 home runs tie the amount hit last season and with one more homer it would be the team's most since the 2017 season (32).
Scouting the Mavs
The Mavs enter this game as the top team in the Summit League, sitting at 29-9 overall and 11-1 in conference play. Omaha is coming off an 11-4 home loss to No. 1 Nebraska on Tuesday night in front of a sold-out crowd.
Omaha is hitting .320 on the season as a team, with 60 home runs. Average wise, the Mavericks are led by Bailey Sample, who is hitting .407 with five home runs and 26 RBIs. Senior Taylor Sedlacek leads the team in home runs with 14, connecting on one in the loss to Nebraska.
Along with the bats, the Mavs rotation has tossed to a 2.92 team ERA in 232.1 innings. Madia Groff and Alexis Wiggins are the team's horses in the circle, with Groff owning a 12-5 record and 2.68 ERA in 117.1 innings. Wiggins has a 3.63 ERA and 12-2 record across 69.1 innings.
Scouting the Bison
The Bison come into this game with at 23-20 and 7-5 in conference play, sweeping Kansas City in a three-game series earlier in the week. Since starting 0-3 in the Summit, the Bison are 7-2, headlined by sweeps over the Roos and South Dakota.
NDSU is hitting .298 on the season, loaded with four players hitting at least .315 across 100 or more at-bats. Amai Hanta (.382), Bella Dean (.381), Star Cortez (.372) and Lileigh Nieto (.315) are all raking for the bison with Dean leading the squad with seven home runs.
The pitching staff owns a 4.10 team ERA, led by Jocelyn McClary with a 2.49 ERA and 12-6 record across 106.2 innings. McClary has thrown 39.0% of the teams innings this season.
