Emersyn Walker turned in a strong final round to lead the University of North Dakota women's golf team at the 2026 Summit League Women's Golf Championship, which concluded Tuesday at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
Walker, competing in the final event of her Fighting Hawks career, finished tied for 17th overall with a three-round total of 227 (+14), closing the championship with an even-par 71 in the final round. Her total score marked the third-best 54-hole performance by a UND women's golfer at the Summit League Championship while her final round of 71 was the second-best 18-hole score by a Fighting Hawk women's golfer ever at the event.
North Dakota finished eighth in the team standings at 953, carding rounds of 328, 317 and 308 over the three-day event.
Walker opened the championship with an 81 before steadily improving each day, posting a 75 in round two and saving her best round for last. Her closing effort was highlighted by four birdies throughout the round, helping UND to its lowest team score of the tournament on Tuesday.
Gigi Lund finished second on the team, placing 31st at 235 (+22) with rounds of 80, 77 and 78. Annika Jyrkas and Sophie Cook each tied for 35th at 246 (+33), while Mallory Uselman rounded out the Fighting Hawks lineup with a 37th-place finish at 251 (+38).
South Dakota State captured the team championship with a three-round score of 882, while McKenzie Mages of South Dakota State earned individual medalist honors at 212 (-1).
