GRAND FORKS, N.D. – On Wedneday morning, North Dakota soccer head coach
Henrik Sohn announced the signing of two more incoming Fighting Hawks set to join the program this coming season, welcoming Camille Derouen and Thale Ruether.
Camille Derouen | 5-5 | Midfielder | Lyon, France | Saint Louis Saint Bruno | University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Spent the 2025 season with the 49ers at Charlotte, but did not see action on the field…became a three-time French National Champion while playing with OL Lyonnes from 2022 to 2024…clinched the Alsace Cup in Morocco and the Essone Cup in 2022…won the Danosti Cup in San Sebastian (U19) as a U16…became a U13 French National Champion
Coach Sohn of Derouen: "We are thrilled to welcome Camille to North Dakota. She developed through one of the top youth systems in France and arrives with Division I experience from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Camille brings a strong technical foundation, a high soccer IQ, and a competitive mindset that align perfectly with our program. We expect her to contribute right away and are excited to see the impact she will have both on and off the field."
Thale Ruether | 5-9 | Goalkeeper| Dorfmark, Lower Saxony, Germany | Gymnasium Walsrode | Casper College
Spent her freshman season at Casper College while appearing in 14 total games…started in each of those 14 appearances for 80 total minutes on the field…accumulated a .845 save percentage…named the 2025 Goalkeeper of the Year for Region 9…also picked up 2025 Second Team All-Conference honors for Region 9…clinched First Team All-Conference recognition as a sophomore at Piper High School
Coach Sohn on Ruether: "We are very excited to welcome Thale to our program. She has competed at a high level in Germany and gained valuable experience in the United States, which has prepared her well for the demands of Division I soccer. What stood out to us was her competitiveness, maturity, and desire to continue developing as a player. We are confident that she will make an immediate impact and help us continue building the culture and standard we expect at North Dakota."
