GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Fighting Hawks and Cornhuskers are two of the top scoring offenses in their respective levels of college football as they prepare for an FCS vs. FBS clash in Memorial Stadium Saturday.

Both teams enter the week averaging north of 50 points per game with NoDak putting up 50.3 ppg during its 3-0 start to the season to rank third among FCS squads, while Nebraska is averaging 52.5 ppg during its 2-0 start, which is tied for 10th best among FBS units.

UND's 3-0 start is the program's first since the 2020 season, which was played in the spring of 2021 due to Covid. The Fighting Hawks opened that campaign 4-0 and won a share of its first Missouri Valley Football Conference title.

In his first matchup against an FBS opponent, head coach Eric Schmidt nearly pulled off the upset in his UND debut a season ago. Kansas State scored a late touchdown to survive with a 38-35 victory over the Fighting Hawks in Manhattan.

Nebraska is 16-0 all-time against FCS foes, while UND's lone win in 17 tries against FBS foes was a 24-13 win at Wyoming in 2015.
