2018 (Junior): Appeared in all 11 games for the second time in his career, making his first start at Sacramento State (Oct. 20) ... Finished second on the team in yards (657) and second among running backs in touchdowns (4) ... Had a stretch of three straight 100-yard games ... Accumulated 141 yards on 22 carries in a win at Northern Colorado (Sept. 29) ... Followed it up with 108 yards and a TD on 16 carries vs. Montana (Oct. 13) ... Broke Dave Osborn’s school record for yards per carry at Sacramento State (Oct. 20) with an 11-carry, 213-yard, and two score performance ... His 90-yard run against the Hornets was the longest run in the program’s Division I history ... Scored a touchdown in the opening game of the season vs. Mississippi Valley State (Aug. 30). 

2017 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 11 games a reserve running back and special teams contributor ... Finished campaign with 41 carries for 248 yards and was second on team with four rushing touchdowns ... Averaged 6.0 ypc to share team lead in that category ... Rushed 10 times for 40 yards and scored first collegiate touchdown in shutout victory over Missouri State (Sept. 9) ... Added rushing scorers against Northern Colorado (Oct. 7), at Montana on a career-best, 56-yard scamper (Oct. 14) and in road win at Portland State (Oct. 28) ... Earned first letter. 

Before UND: Spent two seasons at the University of Minnesota ... Redshirted during the 2015 season and did not see any game action in 2016 ... Transferred to UND in January of 2017 and went through spring drills with the Fighting Hawks ... Finished prep career at Fargo South as the program's all-time record holder in rushing yards (6,158) and total touchdown (81) ... Led Fargo South to Class AAA state title in 2013 and runner-up finish in 2014 ... Became the first player in state history to be named the  two-time Gatorade North Dakota Player of the Year ... As a senior, piled up 2,072 rushing yards on 216 carries and scored a school-record 34 touchdowns (32 rushing) ... Rushed for a school-record 2,671 yards on 266 carries and scored 30 touchdowns (29 rushing) as a junior ... Registered five career 300-yard rushing games, including a career-best 413 yards in a game against Century during senior season ... Turned in five five-touchdown games during his career ... Was a two-time, first-team all-state selection ... Also lettered in hockey and track and field.

Personal: Son of James and Margrit Johannesson ... Father, James, played football at Jamestown College, while uncle, Jon Norstog, played football at North Dakota State ... Major is general studies.
