Coach Ziegler says: "Marcus has made the most of his ability and is a pitcher who keeps you in ballgames. He throws a lot of strikes and hits his spots very well. He will come out of the bullpen again and get some spots starts for us this season."

2001: Pitched in six games, starting two ... Best outing of year came when he allowed just one run and two hits in three relief innings and was credited with win over Minnesota-Crookston on March 31.

2000: Pitched in five games, starting two ... Hurled seven-inning, complete-game shutout against Minnesota-Crookston on May 1, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out 12 ... Struck out 17 batters in 18 innings pitched ... Allowed just 19 hits and seven walks in 18 innings pitched.

1999: Was not a part of the program.

1998: Redshirted.

Before UND: A 1997 graduate of Grand Rapids High School ... Three-year letterwinner in baseball and nordic skiing ... Two-year letterwinner in cross country ... Named second team All-Area in baseball by Duluth News-Tribune in junior and senior year.
