Scott Riley is in his fifth year as a member of the Fighting Sioux coaching staff. Riley works with the forwards/centers.    

"Scott does a good job coaching the big guys and preparing them for the battles of the NCC," head coach Rich Glas said.

He joined the UND staff after spending the 1999 season as a student-assistant coach at Division II Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. Riley has mentored the likes of Kyle Behrens, Jerome Beasley, Todd Rypkema and Evan Lindahl ? all whom have garnered All-NCC honors under his tutelage.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Riley was a four-year starter at Lewis. As a freshman in 1995, Riley was selected to the Great Lake Valley Conference (GLVC) All-Freshman team and named Lewis’s Most Improved Player. As a senior Riley served as team captain and led the team ? and finished third in the GLVC ? in blocked shots (2.7 bpg). After helping the Flyers make the 1998 NCAA Division II tournament, he was named the team’s co-MVP and received the Lewis Coach’s Award.

Riley, a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Chicago, Ill, received a bachelor’s degree in social work and human services from Lewis in 1999.
