Tom Jacobson is in his third year as a member of the Fighting Sioux coaching staff.
    
Jacobson completed his Fighting Sioux playing career in 2001 after playing in 109 games and scoring 783 career points (7.2 ppg). He shot .411 from the 3-point line for his career, making 146 of 355.   

As a senior Jacobson was named honorable mention All-NCC after averaging 11.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and helping UND to a record of 16-11.
    
With his experience in the program, coach Glas feels Jacobson can coach the players from a former player’s point of view.
    
“Tom knows the program, he was a valuable player for us,” Glas said. “He's a seasoned veteran, who knows what we are asking our guys to do, he can step out and lead the guys from a coaching position and he knows what needs to be done. 
    
Jacobson graduated in 1997 from Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg (N.D.) High School, which he led to back-to-back state basketball titles.
