2017-18 (Sophomore): Named to NCHC Academic All-Conference Team for second straight year and was an NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete … Earned a spot on the University’s Dean’s List during the spring semester … Had one goal and two assists in 26 games ... Lone goal came in a 5-4 win at top-ranked Denver (Nov. 17) in which UND had trailed 3-0 ... Was a season-best plus-2 in that game … Earned second letter.

2016-17 (Freshman): Named to both the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team and the NCHC Scholar-Athlete Team … Named to the Dean’s List during the fall semester … Had three goals and four assists in 34 games ... Had his first collegiate multi-point game at Omaha (Jan. 6) with a goal and an assist ... Goal was the first power-play tally of his collegiate career ... Scored his first collegiate goal in a 5-4 win over No. 18 Bemidji State (Oct. 22) ... Also scored in 2-2 overtime tie vs. Michigan State (Nov. 26) … Earned first letter.

Before UND: Split the 2015-16 season between the USHL’s Waterloo Black Hawks and Fargo Force … Had 13 goals and nine assists in 36 games with the Force prior to being traded to Waterloo, where he added 11 goals and five assists in 23 games … Spent the 2014-15 season with Fargo and had 16 goals and 10 assists in 58 games … A 2014 graduate of Roseau High School … Lettered three times at Roseau and was a Mr. Hockey finalist in 2014 … Also earned all-state honors and his second straight all-conference selection … Totaled 106 goals and 100 assists in 123 career games at Roseau High … Also lettered once in golf … Member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Majoring in mechanical engineering … Son of Bill and Tami Yon … Father lettered in hockey at the University of Minnesota from 1981-82 to 1984-85 … Mother and grandfather both graduated from the UND School of Law … Uncle, Todd Hedlund, played hockey at the University of Wisconsin from 1990-94.
