Annie Isler was hired as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team on June 16, 2011.
"Annie is a real go-getter and we are happy to add her to our coaching staff," UND head coach Gene Roebuck said at the time of her hiring. "I know she will do a great job coaching on the court and her connections to the Twin Cities area will allow her to help with recruiting in that area."
Isler came to UND from Hopkins High School in Minneapolis, Minn., her high school alma mater. Under the tutelage of Brian Cosgriff, she was a varsity assistant girls basketball coach for the 2011 4A Minnesota State Champion Royals.
A 2004 graduate from Hopkins, Isler earned two letters playing for the 2004 state champion Royals women's basketball team and earned all-state and all-conference accolades her senior season.
In 2009, she earned a bachelor's degree in history from Carleton College where she was a four-year letterwinner for the Knights and a 2007-08 team captain. In 2008, Isler received all-conference honorable mention honors after leading her team to an NCAA Division III tournament appearance.
While at Carleton College, she served as a prospective student host and was a Women of Color retreat leader. In 2009, she received the Ellen Rogers Steif Memorial Award, an award given each year by the Department of History to a history major who best reflects Steif's personal qualities and academic achievements.
From 2006-09, Isler served as the Hopkins Girls Basketball Summer Camp Director and the varsity and junior varsity summer league team coach. She was also a senior staff member for Pam Borton's Minnesota Basketball Camp (2006-09), Pam Borton's Minnesota Elite Basketball Camp (2009) and the Camp Green Lake, St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Camp (2006).
Isler is currently working towards a master's degree in applied kinesiology from the University of Minnesota.
