Cara Demaine is in her first year as a graduate assistant coach on the UND coaching staff.

A two-year standout at center for the Fighting Sioux from 2002-04, Demaine was the 2004 North Central Conference Defensive Co-Player of the Year. In 65 career games with the Fighting Sioux, Demaine averaged 4.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. UND went 53-12 in her two seasons.

Prior to arriving at UND, Demaine was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American at UND-Lake Region in Devils Lake, N.D., making her the first player in Lake Region history to earn back-to-back All-American honors. She was named the 2001-02 North Dakota Female Athlete of the Year by the Fargo Forum.

A native of Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, Demaine is working toward her master's degree in kinesiology.
