Darian Chwialkowski joined the Fighting Hawks as a volunteer assistant coach in June of 2022. The 2022 season will be her first as a coach instead of a player.

Chwialkowski will remain at North Dakota after a career as a consistent performer for the Fighting Hawks, appearing in 70 matches and 238 sets of play over the course of her career from 2018-2021. Starting as an outside hitter early in her career, she eventually made the transition to become the starting libero for the Fighting Hawks. In 2020, she finished the season as the leader in digs for the Summit League with a 5.35 dig average per set. Chwialkowski became the second UND player in school history to average over 5.0 digs, joining 2015 NCAA leader McKenzie Hart. She recorded 49 matches of 10+ digs, 17 matches of 20+ digs, and two matches with 30+ digs; including a career-high 34 digs against South Dakota State. 

While being the volunteer assistant coach she will also be earning a graduate degree in marketing from North Dakota.
