Duluth, Minn. -- The Fighting Sioux soccer team ended their match-up with NCC conference opponents Minnesota Duluth in a 1-1 tie after two overtimes in Duluth, Minn. this afternoon. Both teams are tied for third place in the NCC with 4-3-2 records.
After a scoreless first half, UND (8-7-2, 4-3-2 NCC) took a 1-0 lead at the 66th minute when Janine Oxley headed in a Lara Traczyk corner kick. The goal was Oxley's first of the season.
The Bulldogs (8-4-3, 4-3-2) responded with a goal of their own less than twenty minutes later to put the game at 1-1. Clare Dahmen scored the goal for Duluth.
Ashley Rowher was in net for the Sioux, finishing with eight saves. Bulldog keeper Briana Francisco finished with seven saves.
UND returns home for their final three home games of the regular season starting this Friday with a game against undefeated Nebraska-Omaha at Bronson Field. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
