Men's golf team hosts Sioux Invite at King's Walk

GRAND FORKS, N.D.--In its only scheduled home meet of the 2007-08 season, the Fighting Sioux men's golf team will host the Sioux Invitational on Sunday and Monday at King's Walk Golf Course in Grand Forks.

The tournament will include a pair of UND split squads, as well as two teams each from Minnesota State and Manitoba, and one team each from South Dakota and Augustana.

Tee times begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start scheduled for Monday.

UND opened the 2007 fall season on Friday, Sep. 7 at the Concordia Invitational in Moorhead, Minn., where UND's split squads placed fourth and 10th, respectively. The Sioux then placed seventh at the Bemidji State Invitational held Sep. 9-10.

The tournament is UND's final tune-up for the NCAA Northwest Region Head, held Sep. 24-25 in Hastings, Neb. The Sioux are guided once again by Rob Stiles, who is in his 21st season as head coach of the men's golf program.
