Women's golf team ranked 22nd in latest national poll

GRAND FORKS, N.D.--The Fighting Sioux women's golf team is ranked No. 22 in the nation according to the second Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division II Coaches' Poll of the 2008 spring season.

UND, which will open its spring season March 28-29 at the Augustana Invitational, collected 30 total points and slid one spot from the No. 21 ranking it held in the previous poll.

Top-ranked Florida Southern received six first-place votes and stayed atop the poll, but is now joined by co-No. 1 Rollins, which received four first-place votes.

Ferris State, Tarleton State and Barry round out the top five.

UND is one of three North Central Conference teams appearing in this week's poll, joining No. 15 Nebraska-Omaha and No. 21 Augustana. Minnesota State received votes but did not crack the top 25.
