TACOMA, Wash. -- The University of North Dakota women's golf team closed out the month of September at the Harbottle Invitational, hosted by Seattle U, on Tuesday from the Tacoma Country Club in Tacoma, Wash.
As a team, the Fighting Hawks finished 12th with a team score of 913 (+49) to record their best 54-hole score of the young season and drop 19 strokes off the team score from their previous tournament in Montana. Gonzaga captured the team title with an 856 (-8) while Sienna Harder from British Columbia won the individual crown with a 212 (-4).
Freshman
Sophie Cook once again led the way for UND, carding a top-20 finish for the second time this season with a 221 (+5) to set a new career-low over 54 holes and finish tied for 20th overall. The Hawley, Minn., native has now finished in at least the top-25 in all three events this season.
Mallory Uselman also made it back-to-back strong tournaments, placing tied for 30th with a 223 (+7) after firing a trio of rounds in the mid-70's to set a new season-best over 54 holes.
Gigi Lund was the third Fighting Hawk on the scoresheet with a 234 (+18) to sit tied for 62nd overall.
Emersyn Walker and
Kate McComb rounded out the scoring for UND with a 237 (+21) and 245 (+29) to finish tied for 73rd and 78th, respectively.
North Dakota will enjoy a few weeks off before returning to action at the Powercat Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. beginning on Oct. 20.
