Opening statement: It's pretty evident what type of hockey team [Princeton] is. They played from the drop of the puck, they played through 60 minutes and it took everything we had to get through and pass this game. You have to find ways to win games at this  time of year. We found a way to win a game and advance, and that's what it's all about.

We're excited and look forward to playing our game tomorrow.” “As a team, we weren't as consistent and we weren't able to accomplish some of the things we wanted to today. A lot of that [was] due to how Princeton played. I thought Phil (Lamoureux), from the drop of the puck, [was] our stability back there, making several big saves at key times, as he's done for us all year.

On being out-shot 2-1: I don't count the shots one way or the other. We've had some games this year where we've outshot teams two-to-one and lost, and we've had games like this. At this time of year, it's about finding a way to advance. Princeton is an outstanding team, and anyone who watched the game should know how good of a team Princeton is.

Player Quotes

Jean-Philippe Lamoureux on his play and the performance by Ryan Duncan: “I know my role on the team is to make timely saves and to come up big when the time is right. It was evident with Princeton, they had a jump all night and they came in spurts.

They had some momentum each period when they had scoring opportunities. I just wanted to go out and play my game, just play solid, protect the middle of the net and not try to sprawl and have to make too many acrobatic saves. That series in particular was big for our team because we went down and got the power play goal from Ryan (Duncan). What else can you say? He scores timely goals for us this time of year. He showed why he is a Hobey Baker winner and he played unbelievable tonight with some big goals for our team.”

Ryan Duncan on only scoring one goal in his prior 10 games: “I've just been trying to contribute as much as I can throughout the year. Obviously the offensive stats haven't been there compared to last year, but I'm just trying to do everything I can. I don't know if you'd say I'm struggling, but sometimes it just doesn't go in for you. I know players in the NHL go through scoring slumps like that, but I'm just proud I could come out and contribute to this team this afternoon.”

Ryan Duncan on how he scored his first goal: “It was just a fantastic play by T.J. (Oshie). He made a great saucer pass over a couple sticks and that's just something he has done all year. I just did my best to get open and Zane(Kalemba) just slid over a little bit and I was fortunate enough to get the puck over his glove and it was a tough angle and kind of a lucky shot.”

Joe Finley on the play of Jean-Philippe Lamoureux: "We got some great goaltending out of Phil. He stood on his head in there for us a few times; made the big save. That's what he does night in and night out. We can't speak highly enough of him and the role he's played in our success this far."

Opening statement: I thought through the game we played well five-on-five, but now it's all done, and they're a great team.

On the decision to pull Princeton's goalkeeper early: We were down by three, and we were here to try to win, so we did it.

On the North Dakota's second goal: “When we were killing (Mark) Magnowski there were a couple chances and (Jean-Philippe) Lamoureux made some great saves. That was one where we just got down, and it's not going to count as a power play goal in the box sheet, but it was. It was unfortunate because they scored on the first power play, and we thought we finally had a pretty good kill, and I believe they had one pass across the box and it went to the wrong guy. I had the opportunity to see the replay, and he did a great job. He saw that Zane (Kalemba) was sort of down, and anticipated another pass across.

He dropped and (Ryan) Duncan is so good; he had his head up the whole way, and was able to see that Zane dropped. I don't know that he had it in his mind to shoot right away, but he took the peak and he saw the Zane dropped and went upstairs. Like I said, the puck went to the wrong guy.”

Player Quotes

Mike Moore on Ryan Duncan and the game he had today: “I think you have to watch out for every one of their players because they're phenomenally talented up front. Ryan Duncan is an extremely talented and gritty guy. He makes up for his size with his heart. He's a hard-working guy. We obviously were concerned about him, but no more concerned than anybody on their team because they're extremely talented.”

Lee Jubinville on how the Tigers played: “I thought we played well. We generated a lot of shots on (Jean-Phillipe) Lamoureux, but those shots didn't go in. We moved the puck a lot and got down low and generated a lot of shots, but at the same time weren't able to finish.”

Mike Moore on how physical the game was: “They didn't surprise us. We were expecting them to come out physical. They're very talented. They also have some size and some speed, so we expected a great game. We were prepared to match that.”

Mike Moore on the loss: It is disappointing. The only thing that you can take away from something like this is that you know you are leaving a locker room with a group of guys who have an incredible commitment to the program and that is something, as seniors, that you can be proud of. You want to see that camaraderie there and it's not going to leave next year and you are excited that they are going to have success in the future. That is the only feeling of satisfaction right now, but other than that, it's just very disappointing.

Mike Moore on their lack of offense: You never want to make excuses for anything but we just couldn't solve their goaltender and their defense. We couldn't score until the end but we knew we needed more than one goal to win.
