UND athletics renews radio contract with Clear Channel for one year

GRAND FORKS, N.D. ? University of North Dakota Athletic Director Brian Faison announced today that UND athletics has renewed its radio rights contract with Clear Channel Radio in Grand Forks for one year (2008-09).

The agreement means that all UND football, men's hockey and men's and women's basketball games will be broadcast live once again throughout the state of North Dakota and the region this season by Clear Channel stations. UND's women's hockey home games will also be broadcast this season.

Fans outside the region will again be able to listen to all UND athletics radio broadcasts for free through live internet streaming on www.fightingsioux.com.

Dan Hammer returns again to call play-by-play of Fighting Sioux football games. He'll be joined by color commentator Mike Berg, former Grand Forks Central High School head coach, and sideline reporter Kelly Howe, a former All-America defensive back for the Sioux.

UND football games will be broadcast throughout the state of North Dakota and the region on a network that includes the following stations:
96.1 FM “The Fox” in Grand Forks
 KFGO-AM (790) in Fargo
 KLXX-AM (1270) in Bismarck-Mandan
 KRRZ-AM (1390) in Minot
 KLTC-AM (1460) in Dickinson

Tim Hennessy will call the action for Fighting Sioux men's hockey games, which will air on the same statewide radio network as football, with additional network affiliates to be announced.

UND men's and women's basketball games will again be broadcast in Grand Forks on Cat Country 100.3 FM (KSNR) and AM-1440 “The Fan,” with Scott Swygman calling the men's games and Paul Ralston the women's games.

UND women's hockey home games return on AM-1440 “The Fan,” with Darrin Looker on play-by-play.
