GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota soccer team closed out its regular-season road schedule with a disappointing 4-0 loss at Utah Valley this evening in Orem, Utah. Will conclude regular-season conference action this Sunday at home celebrating senior day against conference rival South Dakota.
Utah Valley used two goals in both halves of play with the Sioux unable to gather much pressure getting outshot 23-4 in the game. The Wolverines improve to 4-10-1 and 1-4-1 in the conference while UND falls to 1-11-2, 1-4-1 in the Great West Conference.
Jamie Lyons scored two of her eventual three goals in the first half, in the 30th and 35th minutes, but it was a dominating second half for the Wolverines who scored two more goals (Lyons and Danielle Anderson) and held the Sioux shotless.
Lauren Sera (Winnipeg, Manitoba) finished the game with nine saves.
The Sioux will look to gain some momentum going into the conference tournament Nov. 6-9 in their senior-day game on Sunday. Game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
