Vol. 1: Aug. 18
This last weekend was fun in the sun with a well-deserved trip to fellow teammate Alex Zarling's family cabin, which is located on Lake Pickerel. The weekend was filled with tons of laughter, delicious food, tubing on the water, watching scary movies, and team-bonding games/activities, prepared by Coach Tiggs.
These games/activities included building a bridge out of newspaper and tape. Sounds easy, but we had to make it high enough for a text book to slide under and sturdy enough to hold multiple phone books...without talking. Now for our team that was tough because we love to chat!
Another game we played was Jeopardy. There were random facts about our teammates and even coaches that were divided into categories and dollar amounts, much like the TV version of Jeopardy. We were better able to get to know one another on the team as a result of these activities.
At Monday's team dinner we put into practice one of the facts we found out about the team... the top two salad dressings of choice are ranch and vinaigrette!
It seems like we just started preseason, but it is coming to a close. The team is excited to play our first contest of the season against the University of Mary on Saturday, August 22nd at 2 p.m., followed by a "Meet and Beat the Sioux" free soccer clinic. Come and cheer us on at Bronson field and stay for our "Meet and Beat the Sioux" clinic with the team! We look forward to seeing you there!
