HAMMOND, Ind.--Senior Lauryn Job shot an 81 to pace the Fighting Sioux during today's opening round of the Chicago State Cougar Classic at the Lost Marsh Golf Course.
Job, a native of Minnetonka, Minn., is tied for 24th place among 86 golfers, while the Sioux are in 11th place in the 14-team standings with a 339.
IUPUI sits atop the team standings with a 308, while Butler's Michele Nash is the clubhouse leader after firing a one-under-par 71. She holds a one stroke lead on Brianna Hickman of host Chicago State.
Job is one of four Sioux golfers sitting among the top half of the field. Fellow senior Molly Martin (Ramsey, Minn.) is one shot behind Job with an 82, good for a 33rd-place tie.
Sioux teammates Chivas Beaudoin (So., Dickinson, N.D.) and Abby Rueter (Jr., Sartell, Minn.) are tied for 41st with an 84.
Tuesday's final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
