NOTING THE DUKES (2-0, 0-0 A-10): Picked to finish third in the 2011-12 Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches Poll, Duquesne finished its 2010-11 campaign 24-9 overall and 9-5 in the A-10 to tie for second ... The 24 wins last season set a new program record for Duquesne, which led all NCAA Division I teams with 14 victories on the road and recorded its first-ever postseason victory with a 64-56 win over Kent State (March 17) at the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) ... Vanessa Abel and Wumi Aqunbiade were named to the 2011-12 College Sports Madness Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Second Team ... Aqunbiade was named the 2010-11 A-10 Rookie of the Year and Abel was named to the A-10 All-Conference third team ... The Dukes are on a two-game winning streak after posting a 74-70 win over Saint Francis, Pa. in the season opener (Nov. 11) and a 90-46 home opener victory over Buffalo (Nov. 14) ... Duquesne is coached by Suzie McConnell-Serio, who is in her fifth season at the helm of the Dukes.

DOUBLE BUCKSHOT: Sophomore forward Madi Buck (Bismarck, N.D.) tallied her first career double-double, scoring a career-high 17 points and bringing down a team-high 12 rebounds against Idaho (Nov. 14).

DOUBLE WALL CONSTRUCTION: With 12 points against Idaho (Nov. 14), sophomore Allyssa Wall (North Sioux City, S.D.) extended her double-figure scoring streak to four games ... She finished the 2010-11 season with 12 points against Houston Baptist in the semifinal game of the 2010-11 Great West Conference Women's Basketball Tournament (March 11) and then scored 20 points against Chicago State in the championship game (March 12) ... Wall opened the 2011-12 schedule with 13 points against Creighton (Nov. 11).

PERFECT FROM CHARITY: Against Idaho (Nov. 14), four players went without a miss at the charity stripe ... Sophomore Madi Buck (Bismarck, N.D.) went 8-for-8, and senior guard Charnay Mothershed (Phoenix, Ariz.), junior guard Nicole Smart (Ada, Minn.), and junior guard Carly Rothfusz (Eden Prairie, Minn.) each went a perfect 2-for-2 ... Overall, the Sioux shot 75.9 (22-for-29) from the line.

NORTH DAKOTA VS. NON-GREAT WEST OPPONENTS: North Dakota is 24-35 against non-Great West Conference opponents since beginning the transition to NCAA Division status in 2008.

NOTING THE SIOUX (1-1, 0-0 GWC): Picked to win the Great West Conference, North Dakota finished its 2010-11 campaign 15-16 overall and 8-4 in the Great West Conference to place third ... UND went 2-1 in the GWC Tournament to finish runner-up behind Chicago State ... UND opened the season with a 54-72 loss to Creighton (Nov. 11), but bounced back a week later with a big 84-54 win over Idaho (Nov. 20) ... Sophomore Madi Buck (Bismarck, N.D.) led UND against the Vandals with her career-first double-double. Buck finished with a career-high 17 points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds ... Classmate Allyssa Wall (North Sioux City, S.D.) finished with 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting from the field ... Each of the 11 Sioux players to see time on the court scored at least two points ... North Dakota is coached by Gene Roebuck, who is in his 25th season at the helm of the Fighting Sioux.

RECORD REWIND: The University of North Dakota women's basketball program holds a 784-299 (.724) record all-time since the first game was played in 1974. Under head coach Gene Roebuck, UND is 608-135 (.818).

PROTECT AND SERVE: All-time, the Fighting Sioux are 428-85 (.834) when it comes to defending their own court and are 332-41 (.890) under the tutelage of Gene Roebuck.

LAST ACTION: Paced by a career-first double-double by sophomore Madi Buck (Bismarck, N.D.), the University of North Dakota used a balanced attack to defeat Idaho 84-54 in the first on-court meeting between the Fighting Sioux (1-1) and the Vandals (1-1) on Nov. 14 at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center ... Buck led both sides with a career-high 17 points and brought down a team-high 12 boards (nine defensive) to lead a Sioux squad that saw all 11 players score ... Buck shot 4-for-8 from the field, including a three-pointer, and was a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line - another career high ... Overall, the Sioux shot 40.6 percent (28-for-69) from the field, 21.4 percent (6-for-28) from behind the arc, and 75.9 percent (22-for-29) at the free throw line ... Twenty-seven points came on second chances and 21 were scored off of Idaho's 19 turnovers.
