GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota women's basketball saw three Fighting Hawks named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, officials announced on Tuesday.
Walker Demers,
Mackenzie Hughes and
Ava Miller represented UND on the list. The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Demers started all 26 games that she appeared in during the 2025-26 season while averaging 10.1 points and 7.1 rebounds. She shot 48.8-percent from the field and registered 1.4 blocks a game—two averages that led the team. Her 7.1 boards per game cracked the top 10 for rebounding in the league while sitting in the top 20 for scoring. Demers completed her degree in Biology with a 3.85 GPA and will attend dental school in the fall.
In her one season with the Fighting Hawks, Hughes started all 31 games and spent over 1,000 minutes on the floor. She averaged 12.2 points and 3.5 assists while totaling 387 points, leading the team in all three statistical categories. Hughes eclipsed the 2000-point and 400-assist career marks during the season and collected 19 double-figure scoring performances, including the last 11 straight games. She pursued a master's degree in Athletic Administration & Coaching while holding a 4.00 GPA.
With 28 starts across her 31 appearances, Miller led North Dakota's rebounding effort with her 7.3 boards per game while also contributing 7.9 points per game. She dominated the boards early in the season, pulling down a career-high 18 rebounds in the third game of the year, and ranked seventh in the conference for average rebounds. Miller currently holds a 4.00 GPA as a sophomore while pursuing a degree in Health Studies.
