Sioux finish 12th at Appalachian State tourney

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Fighting Sioux men's golf team concluded its first tournament of the spring season today, placing 12th at Appalachian State's Barefoot at the Beach tournament at The Surf Golf and Beach Club.

UND shot a final-round 318 today to finish the three-day tournament with a 951 (322-311-318).

Kennessaw State led the field from start to finished and won the tournament with an 845 (284-281-280). The Owls were led by medalist Matt Nagy, who shot a 13-under 203 (67-68-68) and won the tournament by four strokes.

UND's top individual performer was sophomore Alex Robb (Chanhassen, Minn.), who tied for 29th with a 222. Robb shot a final-round 79 after carding scores of 72 and 71 in the first two rounds.
