Tempe, Ariz. - The University of North Dakota softball team opened play in the Wilson/DeMarini Invitational on Friday afternoon with a 20-4 loss against Baylor.
Baylor set the tone of the game early by scoring eight runs in the first. North Dakota then followed with a four-run inning.
The Bears continued its offensive dominance throughout the game by adding 12 more unanswered runs.
"Embarrassing loss," head coach Eric Oakley said. "We need to start putting together a seven-inning effort or it will be a tough season."
With the loss, UND falls to 2-6 on the season.
North Dakota will continue play in the tournament tonight at 8 p.m. against Arizona State at Farrington Field.
