OMAHA, Neb. – The University of North Dakota men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Creighton on Friday evening.
The Bluejays swept both singles and doubles competition, as North Dakota now drops to 2-2 on the season.
UND started the day off in doubles competition, with Connor Oberle and David Bergstrom dropping the No. 1 doubles match 6-4. Dustin Britton and Simon Danyluk paired together in the No. 2 doubles match, but fell by a score of 6-3. Matt Fuka and Hunter Oothoudt teamed up in the No. 3 doubles, dropping the match 6-4.
Britton played his fourth No. 1 singles match of the season, but was out played by Creighton's Jake Norman, 6-2, 6-3. Oberle played a close first set in the No. 2 singles match, but ultimately fell, 7-6, 6-3.
Bergstrom took his No. 3 singles match to three sets, winning the only set on the day for UND. However, Bergstrom fell to CU's Alex Koca, 6-7, 6-4, 10-6.
Joe Lee played in a lone No. 4 singles match, dropping a 6-3, 6-2 decision. Danyluk lost 6-0 in his first set in the No. 5 singles match, and put together a late rally that fell short in the second set, 7-6. Ty Misialek finished out the day for UND in the No. 6 singles match, losing 6-1, 6-3.
North Dakota returns to the courts tomorrow for a renewed NCC matchup against Omaha. The dual is set to begin at 7 p.m.
