Elk Grove, Calif. -- Junior
Jack McClintock once again led the North Dakota men's golf team in final round action at the Sacramento State Invitational. The sophomore posted a 73 (+1) -- his best round of the 54-hole event -- and had five birdies on a card that included a front-nine 32 (-4).
McClintock, who tied for 19th, helped the Fighting Hawks to their top team score of the tournament with a 304 (+16) on Tuesday at the Valley Hi Golf Course.
Senior
Aaron Pulanco also turned in his best round with a 75 (+3) and finished with a 234 (+21) total. Junior
Brady Ohman improved his score by a stroke in each round, finishing Tuesday's loop with a 78 (+6). Freshman
Jeremy Kirk matched Ohman's effort with a 78 (+6).
Sacramento State overcame a two-stroke deficit entering the day to run away from the 12-team field with a final-round 272 (-15). The host Hornets finished at 851 (-13) and defeated Campbell (862; -2) by 11 strokes.
The Hornets' Aaron Beverly posted a final-round 64 (-8) to win medalist honors by four strokes. He finished with a 207 (-9) total.
UND will return to action at the Cape Fear National Intercollegiate next Monday in Wilmington, N.C.
