Erik Stoxen and sophomore
Kagan Kollar were two of the six men's student-athletes named to the 2024-25 Summit League Golf All-Academic Team on Thursday, as announced by the league office. The honorees were selected for the award based on their academics in the classroom and performances on the course during the 2024-25 golf season.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of his team's competitions.
Stoxen is the only repeat honoree on the men's team, earning the selection for the third straight year. The commercial aviation major holds a perfect 4.0 GPA and finished his playing career with a 78.11 scoring average on the season in 10 events played. He was a finalist for the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor at the annual UND Night of Champions awards banquet for the third time in his four-year career.
Kollar shined both on-and-off the course this season for UND to earn his first selection to the academic team. The sophomore finished with a 75.81 scoring average to sit fourth on the team while carrying a 3.93 GPA in mathematics.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league's eleven institutions and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FARs). The team is made up of the five student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
