Lewis named to Rawlings Freshman All-America Team

TUCSON, Ariz.-- University of North Dakota slugger Miles Lewis was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America Team by Collegiate Baseball newspaper Wednesday. Lewis, the Western Athletic Conference's Freshman of the Year, was one of three WAC players honored, along with New Mexico State's Kyle Bradish and Seattle's Zach Wolf.

Lewis completed a stellar rookie collegiate campaign that saw the Hudson, Wis., native lead UND in a host of statistical categories. He hit .360, fifth-highest in the conference. The switch-hitting outfielder paced the Fighting Hawks with 63 hits, three homers, .463 slugging percentage and 20 steals in his phenomenal rookie campaign. Lewis recorded a team-high 20 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit contests, including hitting for the cycle on May 6 at Chicago State.

He becomes the first UND player to earn freshman all-America honors since Jeff Campbell earned that distinction back in 2012.
