GRAND FORKS, N.D--  Geraldine McCorkell scored a game-high 34 points and Mikayla Ferenz added a triple-double (15 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) as visiting Idaho claimed a 78-64 win Saturday afternoon at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Big Sky Conference play.

In the six seasons that the University of North Dakota has been in the Big Sky Conference, one of the toughest road swings has been through Greeley, Colo. (Northern Colorado) and Grand Forks, N.D., but Idaho was able to complete the task Saturday, just the second ever to be able to make that claim. The last to do it was Montana State in 2014, as the Bobcats handed UND its only home league loss on Jan. 18 following a win in Greeley on the Thursday prior.

True freshman Melissa Leet scored 11 points over the final 11 minutes-- doubling her season output-- to spark a North Dakota rally, but it fell short as UND dropped just its second home game of the season (8-2).

Lexi Klabo recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the loss while Fallyn Freije had a team-high 16 points, adding seven rebounds.

UND was coming off its best two shooting performances of the season, shooting 52 percent in a win a week ago over Northern Colorado, then hitting 57 percent in a win over Eastern Washington Thursday. North Dakota may have tried to go toe-for-toe with one of the top perimeter shooting teams in the nation Saturday, as Idaho knocked down 11 threes in the win while UND launched a season-high 25 threes.

Early, though, UND matched the Vandals bucket for bucket as Idaho claimed a slim three-point cushion after one quarter. McCorkell scored 13 of her game-high total in the second quarter including eight straight points during one stretch as Idaho (10-10, 6-3) stretched its lead to 13 at the break.

That lead grew to as many as 18 in the third until UND made an effort to get back into it. Leet entered late in that frame after just a handful of minutes leading up to that point. She found herself wide open on the left wing from three and after much convincing from the home crowd, drained her first career three-pointer to get the deficit down to 13 heading into the final period.

She'd make a conventional three-pont play early in the fourth, two more free throws and then was in position to hit from deep again. She did with a straight-on three to get the crowd energized and more importantly, whittle the deficit down to single digits at nine. After a Fallyn Freije layup made it 68-61 with just over three minutes left, the Vandals-- despite not making another field goal-- were able to hang on by burying free throws (15-17 for the game) to earn their fourth stright win.

North Dakota (10-10, 3-6) heads to Montana State Thursday to begin the second half of the league schedule.

Notes: North Dakota is 39-13 in Big Sky Conference home games in its six seasons in the league ... Leet's two threes were the first of her career ... Her previous high point total was an eight-point night at Weber State (Jan. 13) ... UND was out-rebounded for just the fifth time all season.
