Home broadcast schedule released for 2019-20 basketball season

Fighting Hawks will have 24 of 27 home contests aired on TV

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota Athletics Department officials announced on Thursday that 24 of the 27 home North Dakota men's and women's basketball games will be televised throughout the region and nation in 2019-20. This marks the second straight year that 24 games will be shown on TV.

North Dakota's partnerships with Midco Sports Network® (MidcoSN®) and FOX Sports North will ensure best-in-the-region television exposure for men's and women's basketball. In addition, games featured on FOX College Sports will be released at a later date.

Midco Sports Network will televise each home men's and women's basketball conference game with the exception of Jan. 25 and 26 when the Fighting Hawks take on Western Illinois. Those games, along with five home non-conference tilts, will be picked up by FOX Sports North, beginning with the Nov. 7 showdown for the men against Crown College.

Alex Heinert returns for his fourth season full-time calling North Dakota basketball on MidcoSN, with Zach Dosch joining Heinert for the second season for the men's games and North Dakota women's basketball letterwinner and former assistant coach Val Sussex for the women's games.

On FOX Sports North, the men's basketball games will be called by Ryan Cunningham (play-by-play) and Sussex for analysis. Senior Assistant AD for Communications Mitch Wigness and Associate AD for External Operations Kyle Doperalski will share the play-by-play duties while Sussex will handle analysis for the women's broadcasts. All these contests are produced by University of North Dakota students and staff. David Folske serves as the gameday producer for all home games airing on the FOX family of networks.

In addition to those 24 home contests airing on TV, a handful of road matchups for both programs will also be shown across the region and country.

All eight games, home and away, against I-29 rivals North Dakota State, South Dakota State, South Dakota, and Omaha will be carried on MidcoSN or MidcoSN2.

North Dakota men's basketball is slated to make four national television appearances away from the Betty this season, taking on Minnesota (Nov. 24) and Nebraska (Dec. 21) on the Big Ten Network before closing the non-conference slate at Oregon State (Dec. 29) on the Pac-12 Networks. In conference action, UND's showdown with Denver (Jan. 2) can be seen on Altitude 2.

North Dakota basketball's relationship with MidcoSN dates back to 2012 and UND has been working with FOX Sports North since 2014.
