DICKSON, Tenn.-- Ryan Rihiinen's middle-round one-under 71 paced the Fighting Hawks' men's golf team in its final fall tournament Tuesday.
Riihinen strung together three birdies on the front nine in Monday's second round on the way to a three-under 33 on the front. He then tallied seven pars on the back side to finish one-under for the round.
Cole Johnson carded four birdies in that same second round to finish with a 74 as UND shaved 25 strokes off its first round with a 295 team score.
"I was happy with how the team bounced back in that second round," said UND head coach
Todd Schaefer. "We took 25 strokes off of our first round and wound up shooting a season-low team round of 295."
Tuesday's third and final round saw senior
Patrick Traynor shoot even par, one stroke better than Monday's second round and just two shots back of Riihinen's 54-hole total of +9. Johnson stayed in the 70s in all three rounds, going 79-74-76.
Bryce Bye had a middle-round 77 while
Jackson Davis' second-round 78 was his best round for the tournament as well.
North Dakota now breaks for the semester and will return to action Feb. 10-11 at Sunbrook Golf Clun in St. George, Utah for the Southern Utah University Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational.
