GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota Head Volleyball Coach
Jeremiah Tiffin announced the signing of Elizabeth Norris on Wednesday, Nov. 13. A two-time all-state setter in Michigan, Norris is the lone UND signee in the Class of 2020.
"We are overjoyed to have Elizabeth join our program in fall," said Head Coach
Jeremiah Tiffin. "Her personality and temperament will be a great addition to our team."
A finalist for Miss Volleyball Michigan this season, Norris has been an all-everything performer for Corunna High School, recording over 2,000 kills, 1,300 digs, 200 service aces, and nearly 900 assists for the Cavaliers over the last four years.
Last season, Norris tallied a school-record 898 kills, aiding the team to a state semifinal appearance in 2018. She also helped Corunna to four conference championships, three district championships, and three regional championships.
"When we were looking for a setter for this class, we wanted to find someone who's athletic, adapts quickly, and who has the ability to lead," Tiffin added. "Elizabeth fits all of these categories. She will be a physical blocking presence for us, which will give our team more options on the court. Her experience playing multiple positions allows her to understand what each teammate needs to be successful, and she will do whatever she can to make them succeed."
As a student, Norris is No. 1 in her class at Corunna High School, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has earned Student-Athlete of the Month honors from her local Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs in Corunna.
The Fighting Hawks will close the regular season Friday, Nov. 15, when it hosts Oral Roberts at 7 p.m. at The Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
